How to use 'MSc Student Advice KB'
What is 'MSc Student Advice KB'
MSc Student Advice KB ('KB' stands for 'knowledge base') is a conversational crowdsourcing web application designed to provide course and module related advice for new MSc students studying at school of computer science and informatics. The application has the functionality of 'conversation' and 'crowdsourcing'.
How to have 'conversations' with the app
The user can have conversations with the application by typing in one of the questions listed below. 1. What is MSc Computing? (or any other MSc course title) 2. What is the student feedback on MSc Computing? (or any other MSc course title) 3. List instances of type postgraduate course (list all the Msc course titles) 4. List instances of type module (list all the module codes) 5. What is CMT112? (or any other module code) 6. What is the student feedback on CMT112? (or any other module code)
How to 'crowdsource' using the app
1. Add new course and module
For example, if the user want to add a new course title named 'MSc Human Computer Interactions' to the KB, the user can use the CE sentence ''There is a postgraduate course named 'MSc Human Computer Interactions'''. By doing so, it introduces a new value of 'postgraduate course' called ' MSc Human Computer Interactions'. Later the user will be able to ask the question 'What is MSc Human Computer Interactions?' and receive an answer.
2. Add new course and module feedback
To add a course feedback for an existing module (CMT112) (add an additional value for the 'feedback property), the user can use the sentence ''The student review 'the student feedback on CMT112' has 'This module is no.' as feedback.'' This will introduce a new instance of 'the student review' called 'the student feedback on CMT112'. When the user ask the question 'What is the student feedback on CMT112?', there should be two feedback in the answer. By doing so, different users can use this method to add as many feedback as they want for a course or a module.
